free anti-virus software

The anti-virus software I purchased last year is going to expire next week. Does anyone know of a good free one to download?

I saw tons of kids out playing today on my walk. Not sure why school is out since we just had Columbus day. But it was a perfect day to be outside, sunny, light breeze and about 66 degrees.

I just read that peanut butter prices are going to go up 20 - 40% this year because the peanut crop wasn't good. I'll have to buy a couple jars next time I go to the grocery store.

I finished reading the library book Master of Shadows by Angela Knight. Paranormal - very good.

    I believe we use AVG, and/or whatever came free with our windows. Maybe it was the spyware that comes with windows. I am no techie, but am married to one and well, from silicon valley. The tech savvy don't pay for virus software. AVG will do anything you need, for free.

    Yes, yes, yes!!! A GREAT free spyware is www.superspyware.com. It works wonders. I thought I was going to have to purchase a new computer, my husband thought he needed a new laptop. He took his laptop to a computer place, and they used superspyware.com. Then my husband loaded it on my computer and it completely fixed my problem. You've got to get it, seriously.

    I'll second Malware Bytes for anti-malware. The free one does just fine and has gotten rid of some series ransom viruses for me.

    AVG and I run Zone Alarm as a firewall. Zone Alarm is also free.
