live and learn

Well it looks like mjrube94 was right about the Staples rewards and I made a mistake last month using the previous reward to buy the 'free' pens and pencils. I didn't get a reward from them this month. I saved the ad and it does say the reward is after all discounts and rewards applied. So I goofed. Well live and learn. I already donated the pens and pencils, so can't return them. That's ok, the kids needed the supplies and it was less than $10.

I got a whole bunch of cheap candy from Walgreens this morning for .62. I used one $3 RR and got

4 king size bars of Hershey's w/almonds
4 packages Reese's mini cups - king size free w/each King size bar
1 8 ct pack of Reese's peanut butter cups - free wyb 4 king size bars.

Most of this will go to the nieces.

I also got 2 cans of mushrooms for .50/each. I love sauted mushrooms and onions and add them to lots of meals to get my veggie quota in.

I finished reading the library book Play of Passion by Nalini Singh. Paranormal - very good.

Is there something you have to do to get them to send you the rewards? I am supposed to have gotten rewards from January, but they never came. Quite frustrating.

Bummer...this is one time when I wish I wasn't right! For what it's worth, you can use your rewards on items that are "easy rebates", just not on items that get you more rewards.

Well, at least there was benefit to be thankful for...Thanks for sharing your good finds with so many have a great way of spreading the wealth!!! Hugs

Sorry to hear. Do you frequent any forums that discuss the deals each week at particular stores? This is common knowledge in those forums, but not something you would know if no one told you.

I have a blast buying items, getting rewards, spending rewards on rebate items using coupons, receiving rebates + profit. Big Grin Fun little process.

Single Guy - If they don't print out the rebate from when you buy an item, then it's supposed to be an easy reward that comes automatically based on your reward card number. You can go to their website, if you still have the receipt and check on your reward that way.

dmontngrey - I do read slickdeals forums every once in a while, but only the king soopers and safeway ones. I mostly use a few blogs for deal advice and I hadn't heard this information before. But I'm always learning something new about ways to save money. It was just last year I found out about buying discounted gift cards.

Ah, I always check out the Staples deals on Fatwallet. That's the best source for Staples that I've found. Smile
