Got a newspaper for $1.25 this morning then went to King Soopers for groceries. Spent $55.71. According to the reciept I saved 41%

Total spent so far this month = $80.39 not off to a good start this month since I've spent almost 20% of my budget in 4 days. I did stock up on some items. Got 2 cases of 16 oz bottles of water for 2.99 each. That was a good deal.

I picked up my mail this morning and I got a rebate check for $27.35 from one of my credit cards.

I found a copy cat version of a Wendy's chili recipe at www.recipezaar.com and made it today. It was really good, I love Wendy's chili and this was just as yummy. I had a bowl for supper with corn on the cob. The corn on the cob is the best I've had all year too. I'm going back to Safeway tomorrow to buy some more to freeze. They have it at 6 ears for $1.00

3 medium tomatoes = 2.49
2 teaspoons cumin powder = .15
3 tablespoons chili powder = .25
2 teaspoons black pepper = .10
2 teaspoons salt = .05

Total = 9.83/12 = .82

I'm so glad I had a 3 day weekend. I needed to relax. I've been able to read quite a bit, plus get some housework done. I usually resent the time spent on housework on the weekends since I feel my free time is so short, but this weekend it hasn't been so bad.
