There's been a lot of hail damage around here recently. My brother has a manufactured home out on the prairie and needs a new roof. He's very upset because the mortgage company won't give him the replacement check and won't let him hire just anyone to fix the roof. He has to hire someone on their list and they will give that person the check directly. He lives in an area where half the homes are empty because people just walked away. I guess a lot of people take the check for the roof and use it to move leaving the mortgage company with a house they can't sell and another roof to pay for. So I can see their point of view and as long as the roof gets fixed it doesn't really matter how it's done.
I finished reading the library book Strange Brew. Sci/Fi short stories - very good. Lot's of good authors like Charlaine Harris, Jim Butcher and Patricia Briggs.
