I-bonds

I bought $5,000 in I-bonds today. I should net 2.33% interest in one year. That's better than any 1 year cds that I've found. Here's a good website that explains I-Bonds

I finished reading my book Dinosaur Planet by Anne McCaffrey. Sci/Fi - pretty good. I'm slowly rereading all my old books, but since I have almost 2000 it is taking a lot of time inbetween library books and newly bought books. It's interesting to me to see how my tastes have changed over the years. Books that were very good the first time are just ok the second time thru.

Wow, 2000 books! We had over 1000 and it was just too many for our condo, so we kept only our most beloved and got rid of 3/4 of them. I had probably another 500 at my parents' house, and I took a handful and told my dad he could get rid of the rest of them. We tend to go book shopping at yard sales and as a treat on vacations, so I can see us having to make a similar purge every few years. If I had a bigger home, though, and didn't plan on making an international move in my lifetime, I could see turning one room into a library and not ever getting rid of any!

I did manage to get all my books downstairs, but I left the magazines upstairs. One day I'll start thru them I have a wall of 7 foot shelves of books in my living room 15 ft. I also have bookshelves in my bedroom, the bathroom, under the bar in the kitchen and in the hallway. Eventually I plan to move to a smaller place hopefully I'll be pared down by then.
