I passed up a bargain

April 8th, 2010 at 08:31 pm

Staples has coupon for a free ream of copy paper but I have 7 reams free from other times so decided I didn't need one more Smile If we do get a VAT tax that charges 20% on everything we buy I will regreat not buying now and stocking up even more, but will not regreat for today :0

here's the link to the coupon if you are interested - it's good thru the 10th of April

I did go to Walgreens and get 2 18 oz boxes of Quacker Oats for $1.50 each. I had 2 $1 coupons so I paid .50 cents each. Both will go to the food pantry. They also had the Cadbury orange cream eggs 1/2 price so I got a few of those. I love them.

I went to the library and picked up my holds. I found this website that lists Redbox codes. I've never rented one of these but the Sherlock Holmes movie is due out April 27th and I'd like to see that. It takes forever to get DVDs on hold from the library. So many people get on the list. I'm number 800 something for Julie and Julia.

here's the link for the site

I finished reading the library book Blood Ties by Kay Hooper. Mystery - excellent

20% VAT? It seems as if you are in the US. Who's proposing a VAT here?

Like you, I'm seeing the hand writing on the wall. Our debt problem is very serious now and all of these spending programs are going to have to be paid for. I'm sorry for the middle class and below who will also be hit with this.

I've been wondering what one should buy ahead of time in case this tax goes through. I wonder how much a car would cost if this tax were added?

I enjoy your website and get a lot of info from it.

I had originally passed on the paper since I don't need any either - but I did send my dad out for some. I may get one for him then. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks for the heads up on the Quaker Oats coupon! I'm heading out for a Wags run as soon as I finish eating lunch. Smile
